I planned my first wedding at the age of 12...seriously. Every little girl dreams of their wedding day, but not many get to play an integral part in planning a real wedding at such a young age. When my sister Nora was engaged, she allowed me to help her plan her classic chapel wedding. We would sit for hours and flip through bridal magazines to decide on the style of her gown and bridesmaid dresses. I was even able to stay up past my bedtime to help assemble invitations. And just a few months later, my other sister Koley was to be wed in an elegant outdoor affair. Not only did I play the role of a junior bridesmaid, but also as a budding wedding planner in the making.
Fast forward to adulthood, and I settled into working in government as a Press Secretary for New York City & state elected officials. When opportunity knocked I opened the door without question, but I knew something was missing. So during this time, I joined the committee for my 10 year high school reunion. It was a whirlwind experience researching vendors for catering, music, and a venue to hold over 200 students from across the country in one central location in New York City. It was a ton of work, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
After leaving politics, I began working for Greenwich Jewelers, a fine jewelry boutique in the Financial District. Surrounded by beautiful one-of-a-kind engagement rings and wedding bands on a daily basis, I was engulfed in the high-end wedding industry and could not get enough.
So with a little courage and a lot of heart, I ventured out on my own and founded my event planning company, Victorious Events NYC. There is nothing more satisfying than the look on my client's face when they walk into a room that only lived in their imagination until I designed it for them.
I form a personal connection with my clients to help put their minds at ease. My personality -- cheerful with a calming demeanor -- is an ideal combination for any couple to rely on for the biggest day of their lives. And my expertise does not stop at just weddings. I also coordinate corporate events, fundraisers, birthdays, showcases, awards dinners, galas and other private celebrations. I take great pride in every event I organize and will not rest until each aspect is executed to perfection.
Being an event planner has given me the opportunity to create some of life's most beautiful moments. It's not just a job for me -- it's a deep passion that I hold close to my heart. I feel so blessed to wake up and do what I love every single day.
My name is Victoria Lartey-Williams, and it would be an absolute privilege to help you create the event of your dreams.
When I'm not planning events, I spend my free time with my other two passions: dancing salsa all over New York City and quality time with my family and my husband Michael, my forever love.
